Mike Dean backs Michael Oliver over Myles Lewis-Skelly red card in Wolves vs Arsenal

Former Premier League referee Mike Dean says he ‘can understand’ Michael Oliver’s decision to give. Myles Lewis-Skelly a red card in Arsenal’s clash with Wolves on Saturday.
The 18-year-old was surprisingly เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง awarde a straight red card for a trip on Matt Doherty on the edge of Wolves’ penalty area in the first half at Molineux.
The foul, which appeare to be a cynical trip worthy of a yellow card, was deeme ‘serious foul play’,. Which is why Lewis-Skelly was dismisse.
Speaking during coverage of the game, former Premier League official Dean initially disagree with. Oliver’s decision to give Lewis-Skelly a red card.
‘What he’s done he hasn’t kicke him, he’s gone to trip him and caught the bottom of his boot,’ Dean said.
‘I don’t think it’s a straight red card in my opinion, I don’t think it is.’
However, after reviewing the footage, Dean changed his opinion and believes Oliver had grounds to dismiss the Arsenal defender.
‘I’ve got a still image here and when you see the still image you might understand what the referee’s done,’ Dean said.
It looks like he’s gone to kick him but he’s actually put his studs right down the inside of. Doherty’s leg, so that’s why he’s sent him off for serious foul play.
‘For me, I can see why Michael’s sent him off with the view he’s got, because it’s not a kick, he’s scraping down the inside of his Achilles onto his foot. So I can understand why he’s sent off, now I’ve seen the other image.’
Meanwhile, former Tottenham and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood hit out at Oliver’s red card call.
‘Doherty breaks and he just trips him, he’s 70 yards from goal,’ Sherwood said.
‘I cannot believe it, this is not a red card.
‘It’s cynical, he trips him, he’s too far away from the goal [to be last man]. It’s not dangerous play, you only send him off if it’s dangerous.’
